It seems like a simple idea to create a unique texture on aluminum surface to complement the image you want to print on it, but it can turn into many hours of concentration and devotion to get the exact depth, natural texture and feel. This process, in its nature is more like painting with the only difference – your “brush” (dremel) is much heavier and those “strokes” take some effort and time to place. Dealing with aluminum is very rewarding, soft metal is perfect in it’s silver color and metallic shine. Like everything new it starts as an idea deep inside a head, kind of like a dream, you see it, feel it, but when you’re trying to breath life into it, you realize that it is still a bit blurry and requires more thinking, more planing.

No matter how vividly you visualize the end result, final product is always in some way a surprise. Sometimes a very exciting surprise “oh, it’s so much better then I thought”, or a disappointing one “no, it is not even close to the way it should be”, but in every case, the process itself is full of enjoyment, impatience to see it done and curiosity, wondering what it’s going to look like, is it going to be what you planned it to be. In the end, I believe it is the only driving force for any artistic person, force that keeps you trying all those ideas out, force to finish and never give up.
